INUF held its annual AGM and Summer BBQ on Tuesday, 30 July. Proceedings started with the AGM at 12.00pm in the Meeting Room. Our Chair, Julian Meek, delivered the Trustees’ Annual Report. He thanked everyone involved with INUF, especially our service users, for their participation and involvement, but said we would welcome even more. He expressed pleasure at our improved financial stability, which bodes well for our future. Next, there was a short address from Martha Quinlan, the Vice Chair, who spoke of her pride in being part of INUF. Chris Tzanetis, the INUF Manager, gave an update on all our activities, mentioning the Service Users’ Forum in particular, but also hoped for more feedback and suggestions for activities we should be providing. The AGM finished with a quick report from Andrew Grey, our Advocacy Manager, who filled the listeners in on the success of our football team, the INUF Wanderers, this season, as he also doubles as their football coach!

The AGM was followed by our BBQ at 1pm, which was sadly, slightly less well-attended than usual, due to the poor weather. However, 35 members still braved the pouring rain, to be served burgers, hot dogs, and chicken, all cooked by Andrew Grey and volunteer, Rakesh Rishi, under umbrellas in the Ithaca House back garden, while Humaira Hussain, Project Coordinator, and Patt Brown, Advocacy Admin Assistant, compiled the plates of food in the kitchen. The savouries were followed by a dessert of ice cream, with cakes and biscuits.
We did manage to light the charcoal for the BBQ, despite the rain!
“I really enjoyed my burger, said one member. “And I didn’t mind the rain at all!”
Who can resist a burger?!
