What’s Going on at INUF
I’m sure you’ve all been wondering about the situation at Ithaca House since the UK was locked down in mid-March.
Well, here, I hope, are the answers to most of your questions!
Can I visit Ithaca House?
Yes, but only if you book in. You can do this by ringing a member of staff on: 020 8534 2488, during office hours. The shorter Drop-in hours are from 12 noon to 2 pm and are limited to 5 attendees only.
What must I do on arrival?
You must use hand sanitiser, which is available at reception. There are also wipes and other cleaning materials, in case you wish to wipe seats down, for example. You will notice there is a new, plastic screen in reception, to protect you and our staff.
How many people are allowed to visit at one time?
Only 5 service users can be in the building at any time.
Do I have to wear a mask or face-covering?
Yes, when you are with any other people.
Do I need to socially distance?
Yes, you need to remain at least 1 metre away from all other people, and ideally, 2 metres.
Can I use all the normal facilities?
No, we would prefer you to stay in the garden if at all possible, but we understand that you may want to sit in the Drop In room at times, if the weather is not ideal. If so, it is absolutely vital you wear your mask or face-covering, and stay at least 1 metre apart. Our usual tea and coffee-making facilities have been withdrawn for the present, due to concerns of cross-contamination. We are not running any of our normal activities, such as the art group, until further notice.
Anything else I should know?
Well, I’m sure you’ll be pleased to hear (given that is where you’ll be spending most of your time), that the garden has been tidied up, and made more attractive, by Chris, Patt and Terry. The whole building has also had a thorough cleaning, and is ready to be used again, once the management feel it is safe to do so.
And finally…
We know this has been a very difficult time for all of you, but we appreciate your patience and understanding, when you are dealing with our staff [and volunteers]. We really look forward to welcoming everyone back, and offering our normal activities, in the not too distant future. We will aim to keep you informed of any changes, via this website and our social media pages.
