

Women’s Group Learn How to Protect Themselves
At our most recent Horizon Women’s Project Group session on 22 February, our female members were given various tips and practical advice on how to stay safe. Martial Arts instructor, Uli Gersteneberg, who teaches a Filipino style of martial art, called Modern Arnis, led the workshop, and gave demonstrations of how to keep out of, and to escape from, danger. Members were introduced to basic forms of self defence: how to punch and kick when attacked, and what parts of the body


INUF Members and Staff Learn about Safe Cycling
Transport for London (TfL) provided a seminar on London By Bike, last Monday, 6 February, to INUF at Ithaca House. Jean, a TfL cycling trainer, gave a one-hour seminar to about 12 people, including members of the Men’s Group, Drop In attendees and staff. She covered topics such as cycle safety, improving skills, myth-busting, and how London is changing for cyclists. Everyone who took part found it really interesting and helpful, and many expressed interest in booking free,


Women's Group Heading for the Olympics!
Well, not the actual Olympics, but they are going to go on a tour of the Olympic Park, or the Queen Elizabeth Park, as it is now known!
